BOX OFFICE:Fast Five Takes the Early Lead

As blockbusters go the Fast and Furious franchise has been a consistent hit. The latest has opened up the blockbuster season as it did a couple years ago by leaping ahead and making big time money, both in the North American market and world wide. This weekend took in 83 million and world wide it has also taken in just as much for a whopping 165 million so far. THOR is not far behind world wide but may bust out in the US once it hit theaters in May 6. The other two new ones, Hoodwinked 2 and Prom did incredibly poor, not even the tweens and kiddie set could save them. RIO is still taking in the money and will probably do so until the next big cartoon hit.Look for the next big kiddie film to be Kung Fu Panda 2.
