Box Office Weekend:Kids Let their Dragons Kick Ass!

Wow really didn't see this coming but it looks like all those preteens who found out they couldn't go to the R rated Kick Ass decided to retaliate and kick the movies ass by seeing How to Train Your Dragon! It lept to the top once again after falling the last week, with 20 million while Kick came in second with 19 million. That is low compared to what expectations were and I'm thinking it will fall even further next week. The audience just is not there for this film. Death at a Funeral came in fourth for a solid 17 million. Mean while Date Night managed to hang on to the top five by coming in third.

1. How to Train Your Dragon (Paramount): $20 million down 20% in its fourth weekend .
2. Kick Ass (Lionsgate): $19.75 million in its first weekend
3. Date Night (Fox): $17.3 million down 31% in its second weekend
4. Death at a Funeral (Sony/Screen Gems): $17 million in its first weekend
5. Clash of the Titans (Warner Bros.): $15.8 million down 41% in its third weekend
6. The Last Song (Disney): $5.8 million down 41% in its third weekend
7. Why Did I Get Married Too? (Lionsgate): $4.18 million down 62% in its third weekend
8. Hot Tub Time Machine (MGM/UA): $3.545 million down 35% in its fourth weekend
9. Alice in Wonderland (Disney): $3.540 million, down 33% in its seventh weekend
10. The Bounty Hunter (Sony): $3.2 million down 24% in its fifth weekend
