Box Office Weekend:Dear John I beat Avatar

SOURCES

Well it did it, Avatar has finally been beaten, after seven weeks at the top and becoming the biggest grossing movie ever. I guess teenage girls and women everywhere decided the boys had enough. Not only that but it marks the first time that Avatar could not come back after losing the Friday night opening. It's actually done so a few times but always surged to the top thanks to Saturday and Sunday. Will it come back next week? I don't think so. Now that it's been broken I think interest will wane, even with a Oscar nod in early March.
