Box Office Weekend:A Princess and a Frog Barley leap to the Top

Looks like 2D animation just doesn't have the pull or punch of the newer stuff out there. Disney's latest barely made a dent in the box office even though it got rave reviews. Though Disney seems to think this will have good legs, one has to wonder. With Avatar, Sherlock Holmes and The Chipmunks sequel coming up it may fade from view awfully fast as a foot note.I myself saw it and compared to previous Disney traditional cartoons it was lackluster. Not one song stood out, it was dark, literally and figuratively. It was more an animal cartoon than a human cartoon which may have put people off.The Blind Side is still doing great business after almost a month in theaters while Invictus managed third place.
