Box Office Results Come Fast and Furious

Who knew audiences would be up for gas guzzling sport cars and hot babes with hot guys? Certainly not the studio or any other big wigs when it came to Fast and Furious 4, but it pulled in a record breaking 72.5 million dollars. It's the best April opening, the best opening of the series, best opening of the year and best opening for a Universal movie. It's even the best opening for it's stars, which isn't saying much since all of them have done nothing but mediocre to bad films otherwise. I guess people are really desperate to get away for a couple hours and this sort of thing fits the bill. Last week's winner, Monsters vs Aliens came in second with 33 million which now puts it's total over the 100 million mark in just 10 days.

1. "Fast & Furious," $72.5 million.

2. "Monsters vs. Aliens," $33.5 million.

3. "The Haunting in Connecticut," $9.6 million.

4. "Knowing," $8.1 million.

5. "I Love You, Man," $7.9 million.

6. "Adventureland," $6 million.

7. "Duplicity," $4.3 million.

8. "Race to Witch Mountain," $3.4 million.

9. "12 Rounds," $2.3 million.

10. "Sunshine Cleaning," $1.9 million.
