Pirated Films not the Usual Suspects

Well this should cause the MPAA and others to howl, or maybe they will duck their heads and exit stage left? It seems that the source for most of the Oscar nominated pirated films is not the camcorder wobboly shick, but from the thousands of screeners that Oscar voters get.

This has been a ongoing problem in recent years and the Academy has tried to fight this but just can't seem to come up with a viable and workable solution. The fact that the members are not all major actors/directors/producers, leads to these screeners being given to Joe Smuck who directed some student film and got a membership some how because of it. These guys in turn copy the screeners and give it out or sell them. It was last year I believe when one of them most prolific piraters was finally caught and jailed. The guy turned out to be a Academy member of course.
